To register as a “Psychologist” you are required to complete a minimum of 6 years of education and/or training. Registration is through the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHP RA) determined by the Psychology Board of Australia.
The following steps must be completed to gain registration;
- Complete a Bachelor degree in Psychology (APAC accredited).
- Complete a 4th year Honours or Postgraduate Diploma in Psychology (APAC accredited).
- Complete an internship or postgraduate degree in Psychology and sit the National Examination of Psychology.
To be eligible for endorsement in a Psychology Board of Australia approved area of practice (e.g. Clinical, Organisational Psychology), MPsych, Doctorate and Combined graduates must undertake a Registrar program.
